The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, (General Applications) Regulations 2007, outline the requirements that must be adhered to in relation to manual handling. By providing Manual Handling training for your staff you are complying with Health and Safety regulations and helping to prevent injuries in the workplace.
The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitude to be able to perform manual handling tasks safely & efficiently.
The course consists of two main components, theoretical considerations and practical applications.
The theoretical section involves:
- concept of manual handling and legislation in this regard,
- anatomy of the back and back care,
- ergonomics and risk assessment.
The practical section involves demonstration and practice of safe manual handling of loads to and from the ground and from a variety of heights. It also includes pushing, pulling and supporting loads.
Duration: 2.5 Hours – up to 12 participants
This course will be delivered on-site and tailored to your business needs. Our team establishes, drives and consistently provides high quality training and services. The course is delivered by a QQI level 6 instructor.
On completion of both the Manual Handling theory and the practical training you will receive a full Manual Handling Certificate which will be valid for 3 years.
Cost: €595 per course with a maximum of 12 people or €995 for 2 courses in 1 day.
